Keeping children safe

Here at Lyde Green, safeguarding is of paramount importance. All our staff understand that our children's safety and their well being is critical and are all fully trained to deal with safeguarding issues.

Everyone who works or volunteers at Lyde Green Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children by

• The provision of a safe, resilient and robust safeguarding ethos in the school, built on mutual respect, and shared values in which children and young people can learn
• Fulfilling our statutory (legal) responsibilities to identify children who may be in need of extra help or who are suffering, or are likely to suffer, significant harm
• Support children’s development in ways which will foster a sense of self-esteem and independence

We always encourage open and honest discussions with both families and children in a safe, confidential and nurturing environment as our main priority is our children's welfare.
