Ranger Class Year 4

Thank you for visiting our Class learning page

Our Topic is ‘How do we see ? How do we hear?’

During this unit, we will be exploring the biology of our eyes and ears and investigating how they work.

We will then begin to look at how light travels and therefore how shadows and reflections are formed.

In Jigsaw we are focusing on teamwork and how we can boost both our own self confidence as well as supporting our classmates.

Our Maths learning focus

For the first few weeks, we will  be focusing on place value of four digit numbers. This will include fractions using negative numbers and Roman Numerals! After this, we will start to concentrate on addition and subtraction using both formal and arithmetic methods.

Our English learning focus

This term, we will be exploring our class book ‘The Tunnel’ by Anthony Browne and we will be developing our own story writing skills. This book is full of mystery and will help us to develop our own vocabulary and literary skills through writing character descriptions, summaries, diary entries and recounts before ultimately writing our own narrative.
