Penguin Class - Year 6
Thank you for visiting the Penguin huddle!
Drinking water to stay hydrated for learning - Please remember to bring named water bottles to school. Water only please! No sugary juice. Break time snacks should be healthy -so please avoid biscuits and cakes.
Reading for learning - Children should be reading 4 times a week with an adult and it is essential that your child's reading record is completed each time. The homework menus set out the options for home learning activities. which children are invited to do. However, times table practice, spelling practice and reading are expected to be done over the course of each week. Year 6 are expected to know their times tables up to 12 x 12 this year. and be able to recall them fluently for their maths learning. If they aren't confident in times tables - extra home practice would be great. Use TTR to make sure you do.
SATs - These assessments are statutory end of key stage 2 tests. They will take place on the week beginning the 9th May 2022 and they will end on Friday 12th May 2022.
Getting our uniform right - Please make sure school uniform is correct and that children come to school in PE kit on their allocated PE days. Please see our school uniform tab for details of required uniform.
Healthy eating for learning - It is also really important that if your child chooses a hot school meal that you order this on the Aspens website. If you do not, we cannot guarantee they will get what they wanted and we can only offer a hot jacket potato.
